MERCY NGOZI UDOH
Founder & Creative Director, Zateemee
Mercy Ngozi Udoh is the creative force behind Zateemee — a Nigerian bridal house bringing a distinctive expression of African elegance to the global bridal landscape.
After a successful modelling career, Mercy began her fashion design journey in 2010. Her breakthrough came in 2012 when she created the winning gown for Miss Rivers State, setting the foundation for her evolution as a designer and entrepreneur. She established Zateemee Designs in 2014 and has since grown the house into a recognised name in bridal and special-occasion fashion.
Known for sculptural silhouettes, exquisite embellishment and a bold yet refined femininity, Mercy’s work draws from the ceremonial elegance of Nigerian heritage while embracing the sophistication of contemporary luxury.
Her achievements include Best Designer in 2018 and a Fashion Gala Award in 2022, while Zateemee gowns have reached clients across more than 11 countries.
In recent years, Mercy has taken Zateemee onto the international bridal stage, including A Brides Expo in Fort Lauderdale and the New York Bridal Market by One Fine Day in 2026. Zateemee’s distinctive embellishment work was subsequently highlighted in One Fine Day’s bridal trend coverage, placing the house within an international conversation around contemporary bridal design.
Today, Mercy’s vision is to build Zateemee as a globally recognised bridal house — one that celebrates the grandeur of the Nigerian woman while creating exceptional gowns for brides around the world.
